Bawnboy village
( Paragraph numbers on the left refer to house locations on the navigation index map)

89) We turn to the right on the main road and come to the last two houses, built in the 1950s on part of the Bawnboy Demesne. Tommy McGovern (RIP) and his wife Lena occupied the first house. They had a family of seven, Gerry who works for the European Union and travels the world, Gabriel, Limerick; Marie, Longford; Philomena, Donegal; Martin, Queensland; Noel, Kilkenny; and Seán, Slough.

90) Next door lives Francie Flanagan from Aughawillan who married Kathleen Dolan, Gowlagh South and had two children P.J., painter and decorator, married near Cootehill, and Mary who married Hugh McGovern, Muineal.

91) As we return to the village, just opposite the Garda Station on our right, is a new holiday home recently built by Brendan McGovern on land belonging to his brother Seán.
This was a timber built mobile home which has been moved to the Marsh Road. It has been replaced by a block of town houses.
