National Archives Census of Population 1911 The 1901 and 1911 censuses are the only surviving full censuses of Ireland available to the public. Both censuses cover the island of Ireland and are available online free of charge. The 1911 census was taken on 2 April 1911. The 1911 census is the most useful resource to be found and is used extensively by those researching their family's past. The entire 1901 census should be available on line by the end of 2010. What information does the census contain? There are six District Electoral Divisions (DEDs) covered by the present Parish of Templeport, these are Bawnboy, Ballymagauran, Lissanover, Ballyconnell, Tircahan and Templeport. A map of the present Templeport Townlands with their alternative names may be found on the Templeport Development Association web site at: www.templeport.ie/pages/townlands.html |
